Categories: Classic Movies, Crime, Thrillers, Drama

Legendary detective Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone, The Hound of the Baskervilles) is entrusted to protect the fabled Star of Rhodesia diamond while it is being transported via rail from London to Edinburgh, after being hired by Roland Carstairs, son of the jewel's owner, Lady Margaret. But when the gem is stolen and Carstairs is murdered aboard the train, Holmes and his trusty associate Dr. John Watson (Nigel Bruce, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes) must determine which of his suspicious fellow passengers is responsible for the crimes. Could Colonel Sebastian Moran—henchman of Holmes' longtime nemesis Moriarty—somehow be involved in these dastardly deeds? This film's title is actually a reference to a biblical verse from Psalms 91:5: “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night.” TERROR BY NIGHT is a classic, suspense-packed Sherlock Holmes mystery—a must see for all fans Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's iconic sleuth, both old and new.
