Long Distance Love

Long Distance Love

Categories: Documentary, Romance

This is a love story clouded by migration and modern-day slavery. Eighteen-year-old Alisher has to leave his new, pregnant wife Dildora (who is seventeen) in Kyrgyzstan to go work in Russia—3.500 km from home. He's one of Russia's twelve million guest workers, who are forced to leave their countries and work—mostly illegally and under harsh conditions—in low-paying jobs in order to support their families. After eight months of hardship in Moscow, Alisher decides to return to his young family, although he has sadly failed to earn enough money to provide for them.
