Seventy years old and hard of hearing, struggling artist Fritz is trying to get back on his feet after the passing of his girlfriend Darlene. But when he is discovered by two young filmmakers, they turn his world upside down—for the better. Shooting over the course of two years, the project helps Fritz ease out of his devastating grief as he delves into his past and present—including his 1977 journey to New York City to become a professional artist, unique perspectives on life, love of pranks and the strained relationship with his brother Vincent (who feels his artistic ambitions are foolish and a waste of time). An inspiring and heartfelt documentary, FRITZ also features interviews with other working artists, gallerists and writers that provide a collective voice on what goes into "making it" in the art world.
